| For use with Cardinal Stairway Special, Auto Lock or Cardinal Wood Gates. Our baby gate installation kit for metal stairway railings is designed to safely mount baby gates to wrought iron and metal stairway posts without drilling or damaging the metal.
The metal railing installation kit works with our Cardinal Brand Baby Safety Gates.
Kit includes a 28" x 2.5" unfinished pre-drilled wooden bar and two U-bolts with protective rubber tubing. Wooden bar attaches to one metal railing support using the U-bolts and fits just under the railing to provide a flat wooden surface for baby gate installation. Metal railing installation kit fits square, round and decorative metal post sizes 3/4" dia. or smaller.
INSTALLATION NOTE: Wooden bar is 3/4" thick - the screws included with most hardware-mounted baby gates are longer than 3/4". We recommend using wood screws 5/8" to 3/4" long to install gate hardware to this kit's wooden bar so screws do not run through the wood.
